New Feature: Search Assist powered by Behavioural Boolean

Search Assist

Introducing Beamery Search Assist, the most flexible candidate search experience powered by Behavioural Boolean. Identify talent based on their characteristics and interactions faster, reducing the time to find the relevant candidates for your business. Below is what’s included in Search Assist.

Preferred Location 

Preferred locations lists the places the candidate is happy to work, found in the profile overview and as a filterable field. You can set the candidate’s preferred location using country, city, street and zip code from a predefined list, ensuring this data is structured and consistent.


Boolean Search and New Filters

Find the right candidates rapidly, with true Boolean search and new filters, including radius search, vacancy stage, dates added to vacancies and pools, past companies, and who created and sourced the candidates.


Repeat Recipes

Repeat Recipes make it even more time-efficient for Recruiters and Sourcers to automate repetitive tasks. Now only a single repeatable Recipe is required to automate the same action each time a candidate matches a set of filters. Automatically re-add candidates to pools, update statuses as candidates move through consecutive vacancies, and re-assign them to users.


Improved Contact and Comms Automation

Use new Recipe actions to automatically add keywords, un-tag candidates, and remove them from pools, vacancies and campaigns. Manage which candidates should only be messaged directly rather than included in campaigns, by automatically marking them as ‘Do not campaign’ / ‘OK to campaign’.


Comprehensive Comms Tracking

Get a holistic view of the time of communication with candidates. Now, adding notes from a candidate profile (e.g. Call, InMail) updates the ‘Last Heard From’ and ‘Last Contacted’ times, so you can track the times of inbound and outbound communication beyond Beamery messages, then segment, engage with and automate actions with more relevance and rigour.

Update: Beamery Comply: Extension and Automation updates

Following the Beamery Comply 'Consent Management' and 'Manual Anonymization' releases, we have been busy making enhancements enable customers to achieve and maintain a state of compliance more efficiently, by:

  • Integrating Consent Management and Anonymization into the Extension
  • Introducing Beamery Comply Automation

Integrating Consent Management and Anonymization into the Extension

Requesting consent outside of Beamery:

Now users can generate the consent URL for contacts in Beamery directly from the Extension, allowing users to more easily share the consent link outside of direct messages or campaigns, e.g. via LinkedIn InMail. We recommend using a link shortener before sharing the URL to provide a better contact experience.

Protecting against sourcing Anonymized contacts:

Anonymized contacts will be flagged and blocked from being sourced into your CRM.

Introducing Beamery Comply Automation 

We have upgraded Recipes so users can automate compliance-related workflows on a regular basis. In addition, users will benefit from additional Recipe filters that also complement GDPR Automation to better target the right candidates with automated actions. There are three key updates to Recipes:

  1. Scheduled Triggers: A new type of recipe trigger which will run periodic database checks (instead of only triggering a recipe at the time a contact's record is updated)
  2. New filters: Enables users to filter contacts by:
    • When contacts were created, were last heard from, when an email is added to their profile, and which pools the contacts are NOT part of, to accurately segment and then tailor actions
    • Archived contacts, and contacts marked as ‘Do not contact’; this allows for an automatic database cleanse of contacts who should not be contacted
  3. GDPR Automation: Users can trigger actions based on when a contact opts in or out, filter contacts by their opt in status and filter contacts according to how long it has been since time consent was provided

Scheduled Triggers

Run checks on the database of contacts at regular intervals of every 1, 6, 12 or 24 hours, for filters selected. For example, this enables customers to automate the following:

  • Workflows based on previous updates to contacts (while standard triggers are future-facing)
  • Archive contacts without consent information after a certain period of time
  • Purge the database of archived, disengaged contacts after a certain period of time
  • Add contacts to a campaign as soon as the sourced contact’s email is added
  • Send a re-opt campaign when consent is about to lapse for contacts

New Filters

The following filters have been added into recipes as part of this release, which work well with compliance workflows:

  • Date created
  • Archived
  • Marked as ‘Do not contact’
  • Last heard from
  • Doesn’t belong to pool
  • Primary Email

GDPR Automation


Trigger actions depending on whether the candidate has opted in or out. For example, you can automatically send a confirmation email to the candidate or archive them using the consent trigger.

Filter contacts by the Consent field and the Last Consented field. For example, to run regular purges of contacts who have opted out and have been archived (used in conjunction with the scheduled trigger), or to send 're-opt in' campaigns when the candidate’s consent is about to lapse.

Update: Release Notes - Beamery 4.0: Workflow enhancements

Beamery 4.0 sees over multiple updates made to the core Beamery platform leading to improved and faster workflows for users. Here are some highlights:

CRM Filters

We have released two major upgrades to filtering in Beamery:

  • ‘Contains’ filters - to enable better identification when filtering 'Title' and 'Company', with ‘Location’ and ‘Keywords’ to follow. This means you can filter candidates based on a partial text search. For example, you can enter part of a job title or part of a company name to search for candidates in your CRM. Search results appear immediately as soon as you start typing.
  • Default Filters - organisations can now set a default filter, which can be used to automatically exclude certain contacts ‘by default’ within any view within the CRM. For example, you can exclude ‘rejected candidates’ or contacts in a certain status from appearing, until the default filter is removed.

Bulk Actions in Advanced Search

Beamery 4.0 enables a ‘bulk action’ to be applied following any boolean search. This allows users to take all the candidates resulting from an advanced search, and assign them all, in one single action, to a pool or to a vacancy, or to apply a tag.

Sourcing typically starts with searching. Being the start of the process also implies that sourcers will throw a wide net, and include many contacts in their subsequent actions.

Beamery Advanced Search currently supports a lot of post-search actions such as adding a candidate, one at a time, to a vacancy, a pool, a campaign, or more. Expanding this to enable bulk actions has been one of our most frequently requested features, and we hope this can make a significant impact on the workflow of all sourcers starting a new search.


Email Digest

Beamery 4.0 delivers a completely redesigned email digest. Rebuilt around the needs of sourcers and marketers, it provides a daily, or weekly, overview of everything noteworthy that happened during the previous time period.

The daily digest email is an existing feature that all users can already receive; however, the current digest only shows notifications based on @mentions and tasks. The new digest expands upon this to provide key activities and notifications across all areas of the product, with actionable insights that link directly back to the right area of the Beamery app. Among other pieces of information, the new digest will include:

  • Tasks: overdue, upcoming, and all unread mentions
  • User’s contacts: updates on new contacts added to the pools and vacancies that the user is managing (either as a creator/owner or as an assigned manager)
  • Messages in campaigns: emails delivered, opened, clicked

Recipe Actions

Beamery 4.0 sees a series of new recipe actions allowing for improved candidate data management in your CRM.


Archive - You can now automate candidate archiving when certain triggers are satisfied. For example, if a candidate unsubscribes from a campaign or upon a particular status update, candidates can now be removed from the core CRM and moved into the Archive area of the People grid. Candidates can always be 'un-archived' and moved back into the core CRM at any time. 

Do Not Contact - Users can now mark candidates as 'Do Not Contact' with a recipe. For example, you can create a recipe to mark candidates as 'Do Not Contact' upon a particular status update, or if they unsubscribe from a campaign. Marking a candidate as 'Do Not Contact' means they cannot be added to any campaign in Beamery. You can see from a candidate's profile if they have been marked as 'Do Not Contact'. You can remove this from a candidate's profile at any time so they can be re-added to campaigns.

Assign to source - You can now automatically assign a source to a candidate who is added into Beamery. This is particularly useful for candidates added through the Extension, for example, as you can assign a particular network or platform (e.g. LinkedIn, GitHub) as their source. This information feeds into the analytics reporting engine to provide insights into the most effective sources for candidates in your team.
